MSVU Students Shine Tall Ship Silva

It was a cold and cloudy day in Halifax on Tuesday, June 1st, but it did not break their spirit! A group of students from Mount Saint Vincent University shined Tall Ship Silva to kick off their 2010 Shinerama campaign. Now shined from bow to stern, the Tall Ship Silva is ready for its summer adventures and so is the MSVU Students’ Union with a jam-packed summer of Shinerama events.

Staff from the MSVU Public Affairs gave out hot chocolate to all the Shiners and Z103.5 radio was on sight to help shine Silva. MLA, Diana Whalen, MSVU Interim President, Alexa McDonough, CCFF Development Coordinator, Pamela Barnes and CCFF President NS Chapter, Colin Fox were also there to help kick-off their 2010 campaign. As they gave Silva a good cleaning, some buzz was floating around downtown Halifax as people walking by asked questions and donated money. Halifax Metro News also posted a picture in their paper the following day.
